In case you weren't aware, Academy Award-winner Nicole Kidman, is starring in James Wan's Aquaman. Hit the jump to check out what the actress had to say!
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kidman was asked about her upcoming role in James Wan’s Aquaman, and what convinced her to join the film:
“The reason why I love [Aquaman] is James Wan is an Australian, and I’ve followed his career since he started. He’s a really good friend of mine, and he offered to let me play Queen Atlanna. As soon as he said I could wear mother-of-pearl and be a mermaid warrior, I said I’m done. Please. If there is one thing I have to do in my life, I have to be that. [Laughs] Because, you’ve got to have some fun.”
Now, it is worth noting that Kidman actually turned down a part in Wonder Woman. The actress was reportedly offered the role of Diana’s mother, Hippolyta. I am not going to lie here, I think the people at Warner Bros. think of Kidman in a pretty-high regard, considering the consistent offers. The actress can currently be seen killing it on HBO’s Big Little Lies, alongside Shailene Woodley and Reese Witherspoon. Are you excited for Wan’s Aquaman? Are you keen to check out Kidman’s role in the whole thing?
Aquaman is set to hit theatres everywhere on December 21, 2018.
