Chris McKay, director of The LEGO Batman Movie, has claimed that we should expect more news about his Nightwing movie around Valentine's Day.
Speaking with fans on Twitter who are dying to hear about the casting process, McKay tells the fans to keep their expectations in check and to be patient for future updates. However, he did throw fans a bone by revealing that there’s a big status update in the pipeline that will come in less than a month:
The “first” Nightwing movie, eh? McKay definitely sounds confident that his movie will be a winner, and if this is the case it would be an easy franchise option for DC — the movie will likely be a less expensive offering for the company to make, given that Nightwing isn’t really a superhero that demands tons of CGI, and if it lives up to the promise of being DC’s answer to Daredevil, then the franchise could really get a boost on that front.
A Nightwing movie is in development from director Chris McKay (The LEGO Batman Movie) and screenwriter Bill Dubuque (The Accountant) as part of DC’s shared movie universe. While little has been said about the project, McKay has promised that his movie will be significantly more serious than his previous DC movie.
