Vertigo Adaptation ‘The Kitchen’ Gets An Official Synopsis

Next year in the cinema, film fans will be in for store for a wild ride with the upcoming film The Kitchen, directed by Andrea Berloff.

The film boasts a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Melissa McCarthy and Tiffany Haddish to name a few. Film buffs have been eager to hear just what this film could have in store, and now an official synopsis has been released. You can check it out below.

Based on the Vertigo comic book series from DC Entertainment, the film stars Oscar
nominee Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss as three 1978 Hell’s Kitchen housewives whose mobster husbands are sent to prison by the FBI.  Left with little but a sharp ax to grind, the ladies take the Irish mafia’s matters into their own hands—proving unexpectedly adept at everything from running the rackets to taking out the competition…literally.

These types of films tend to not perform extremely well in the box office as they are always competing with superhero films and horror films. Just a couple of weeks before The Kitchen hits theatres, the long awaited It: Chapter Two will scare viewers, so it is hard to tell how well this film will perform. We will just have to wait until September 2019 to find out.

Directed by Andrea Berloff with a script from her, The Kitchen stars Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss.

The Kitchen will be released in theatres on September 20, 2019, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
