Oliver Queen Becomes The Flash In New ‘Elseworlds’ Promo

In a way, Oliver Queen should consider himself lucky. I said “in a way.” He’s spent the bulk of this most recent season of Arrow incarcerated and behind bars. As of the most recent episode, he’s now free, just in time for the next of the DCCW crossover events that begins a week from tomorrow. And all of the promos have shown him switching places with Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen and taking on the life of the Fastest Man Alive. Sure, Oliver might have wanted a life outside of prison, but this is probably unlike anything he ever expected.

The promos that have aired in-between each of the DCCW shows have given us a sense of the story that will bring together Oliver, Barry, Kara, Clark, and the introduction of Ruby Rose’s Batwoman, but a quick promo over on the Twitter for The Flash gave fans a quick taste of what’s to come. In the brief video, we see Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen suddenly become Stephen Amell’s… Barry Allen. It’s brief enough to know that something’s off about this timeline, and I’m not talking about Barry messing with the timeline again, either.

Here, have a look at Oliver abandoning the bow and arrow and wear the Flash suit in the quick Elseworlds video below:

Again, it will be interesting to see just what it is that brings the heroes together, given that there’s been no giant indication or common thread throughout SupergirlArrow, or The Flash thus far. While Arrow and The Flash have both name-dropped Gotham City as of recent, what is it that will unite these heroes and leads to their lives being turned upside down? We’ll see. With this upcoming week being the last one until the crossover itself, hopefully we get a sense of what will lead us into Elseworlds.

What have you thought of the promos for Elseworlds so far? Are you looking forward to the crossover? Let us know in the comments below.

The Arrowverse “Elseworlds” crossover starts on Sunday, December 9 with The Flash, continues on December 10 with Arrow, and concludes with Supergirl on December 11. The special will air on the CW.
