‘Cloak And Dagger’ Stars Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph Reprise Roles For ‘Spider-Man: Maximum Venom’

Cloak and Dagger stars Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph surprised fans over the weekend when the actors reprised their roles for two episodes of Spider-Man: Maximum Venom.

The Freeform series Cloak and Dagger was canceled after two seasons in the fall of 2019 with Marvel reshifting its television focus to upcoming Disney Plus shows with Kevin Feige now overseeing the studio’s television division. But fans of the late series were treated on Sunday when both Holt and Joseph reprised their roles as Cloak and Dagger for two episodes of the Disney XD animated series.

The latest episodes of Spider-Man: Maximum Venom will likely mark Holt and Joseph’s final performances as Cloak and Dagger. Marvel has several new series in development for Disney’s new direct to consumer streaming service including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk.

While The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was originally set to release this summer, with WandaVision in tow for December, Marvel has had to pause production on its new shows due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had no choice but to halt production in March. The series has yet to resume filming despite being cleared to start shooting again in the Czech Republic in May. Additional photography for WandaVision will reportedly commence this July.

Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.”

Directed by Kari Skogland from scripts written by showrunner Malcolm Spellman and Derek Kolstad, the series stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker / U.S. Agent. Actors Desmond Chiam, Miki Ishikawa, Noah Mills, and Carl Lumbly have also been cast.
