Olivia Munn Comments On The Future For ‘Psylocke’ After ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ & ‘Deadpool’ Success

Without a doubt, one of the things that fans are looking forward to in the upcoming Bryan Singer directed X-Men: Apocalypse is the debut of Olivia Munn as the telepathic ninja Betsy Braddock aka ‘Psylocke’. Actress Olivia Munn has been front and center in the marketing and fans have been eating up what they’ve seen of her incarnation of the character so far. So, what lies ahead for the character post-Apocalypse? Could we see her become the female face of the franchise with rumors of Jennifer Lawrence moving on?

While speaking with MTV News, the actress did confirm that she has indeed signed a multi-picture deal but played coy about the character’s future in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men Cinematic Universe.

“No, I don’t. I just know for this movie it was really important for me that Psylocke got to show off how strong and lethal she is with the fight scenes. So that’s what I know for this one.”

With Deadpool breaking the bank at the box office, Munn was then asked if she thinks that success could be replicated with an R-Rated X-Men film.

“I think what happened with Deadpool is a combination of Ryan being so amazing, and the writer, and the director, and everybody. For anything to be successful it has to be the perfect storm, so you hope you’re the perfect storm all the time, right?”

Are you interested in seeing more ‘Psylocke’ after X-Men: Apocalypse? Perhaps in a spin-off film or travelling across time to join the line-up for X-Force? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts on the matter.
