Olivia Munn surprised fans when X-Men: Apocalypse was released in theaters with the first live-action portrayal of comic book character Psylocke on the big screen. Now, the follow-up film Dark Phoenix has been in development for quite some time now and has had quite a few delays. Recently, Munn sat down with Entertainment Tonight Canada and had this to say about the reshoots:
“I was filming Predator at the time so there wasn’t time for me to film it and so I’m not in it. I will tell you guys.”
The actress didn’t have anything else to say on the matter as she had previously mentioned getting into trouble for speaking a little too much about Dark Phoenix. Even though Olivia Munn’s Psylocke will not be returning, other characters from the previous film, X-Men: Apocalypse, will be making a return for Dark Phoenix.
Are you sad Olivia Munn won’t be back as Psylocke? Are you looking forward to Dark Phoenix? Share your thoughts below!
Dark Phoenix is directed by Simon Kinberg and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain.
“In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.”
Dark Phoenix is set to hit theaters on June 7, 2019.
