"I'm just a man who's good at what he does. Killing."
With the cinematic nature of the Metal Gear Solid video-game series, it was only a matter of time before a movie came to fruition. And Sony has finally found its lead for the live-action adaptation, with Oscar Isaac attached to star as Solid Snake. The actor is quickly collecting roles in a number of high-profile franchises after already appearing in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, he’ll next be seen in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune and is also in talks to play Marc Spector in Marvel’s Moon Knight for Disney Plus.
The Metal Gear Solid news comes from Deadline, with the publication noting that a production start date hasn’t been confirmed due to Oscar Isaac’s incredibly busy schedule. The video-game series follows Solid Snake as he tries to find walking weapons of mass destruction called Metal Gears. The series offers plenty of action-packed gameplay as well as stealthy sequences which could prove to be incredibly tense on the big screen. The live-action movie will be helmed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who previously directed Kong: Skull Island.
