‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ Teaser Reveals The Jaeger Uprising

A new teaser for Pacific Rim: Uprising has arrived, and with it comes a quick look at many of the movie’s new Jaegers, along with the reveal of John Boyega’s character.

Those familiar with Pacific Rim should be familiar with the name “Pentecost”, as that’s the family name of Idris Elba’s Stacker, a marshal in the Pan Pacific Defense Corps, who fought valiantly to save the world from an interdimensonal invasion originating in the Pacific Rim in the ocean. While Stacker isn’t confirmed to appear in the sequel, his son (portrayed by John Boyega) will be – and it’s looking as though he’s leading the initiative to build more Jaegers to be ahead of the curve should some other alien threat place humanity in danger.

This film will be the first non-Star Wars blockbuster that will feature John Boyega in a starring role, and it will come out shortly after The Last Jedi, so the Pacific Rim sequel looks likely to outdo its predecessor as long as Universal and Legendary Pictures can ensure that original’s audience will return – and that the picture can attract a greater audience.

Pacific Rim: Uprising makes waves on February 23, 2018. The film’s cast includes John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeney, Jing Tian, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Burn Gorman, Levi Meaden, Adria Arjona, Karan Brar, and Nick E. Tarabay.
