Check out a brand new trailer for Morten Tyldum's upcoming sci-fi film Passengers starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt.
The film was directed by Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) from an original script by Jon Spaihts, whose most recent credits include Marvel’s Doctor Strange and Universal’s upcoming The Mummy reboot starring Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella. Spaihts wrote Passengers a few years ago, but the project was stuck in development limbo until Sony Pictures picked up the rights to the film towards the end of 2014.
There’s nothing too revealing in the trailer or the clip, but we do see quite a few tense moments from the movie. The latest trailer is packed with new snippets of never-before-seen footage and puts the spotlight on the romance between the two lead characters, who are stuck on a malfunctioning spaceship. You can check them out below.
Here’s the official synopsis for Passengers:
Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are two passengers onboard a spaceship transporting them to a new life on another planet. The trip takes a deadly turn when their hibernation pods mysteriously wake them 90 years before they reach their destination. As Jim and Aurora try to unravel the mystery behind the malfunction, they begin to fall for each other, unable to deny their intense attraction… only to be threatened by the imminent collapse of the ship and the discovery of the truth behind why they woke up.
Passengers opens in theaters on December 21, 2016. The film also stars Michael Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, Andy García and Aurora Perrineau. Are you excited?
