After behind-the-scenes photos from Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984 showed Pedro Pascal dressed in a suave 1980s business suit, many fans predicted that The Mandalorian star would be playing the devious DC Comics villain Maxwell Lord. The character first appeared in Justice League #1 in 1987 and actually had a hand in first creating the Justice League International team. Since then, Maxwell Lord has plagued the heroes of the DC Universe, even killing the original Blue Beetle — Ted Kord.
Patty Jenkins recently confirmed that Pedro Pascal would be playing Maxwell Lord on Twitter with a photo of the devious businessman with the simple caption “Well hello… Max.” Pedro Pascal was tagged in the tweet, confirming Maxwell Lord will make his big screen screen debut in Wonder Woman 1984. Whether Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord is working alongside Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah remains to be seen. Either way, Diana is going to have her hands full in the Patty Jenkins sequel.
