Fans are still disappointed from the news that The Batman has been delayed from 2021 to 2022, and although that’s a while to go before see the next version of the Caped Crusader, it sounds like it’ll be worth the wait according to Peter Sarsgaard. The star plays District Attorney Gil Colson in the film and he’d previously mentioned that his role is constantly intense. But in a recent interview with Collider, Sarsgaard opened up about working with director Matt Reeves and his detailed directing style.

“He is the most detailed oriented director I’ve ever encountered. I mean, he is like, the level of focus, I mean, you would have to have to direct the kind of movies that he has directed, but it’s unbelievable. That’s like a very specific type of mind and it’s really fun working with him. He’s very collaborative, but he also, he totally knows what he wants. You know, I would say like, what about something like this? And he would think about it. Well, no, because of the thing and you know, he’s like really, he’s got it in his mind in such a detailed way that it’s almost like savant sort of situation.”

Peter Sarsgaard was also asked about how he reacted to Colin Farrell and his bizarre new look for The Batman, which caused a stir when the first trailer debuted as he was nearly unrecognizable. Surprisingly, Sarsgaard explained that he hasn’t been on set at the same time as Colin Farrell and he also hasn’t seen the prosthetics used to create the new version of the Penguin.

“I haven’t been on set with him at the same time. I haven’t seen him. I haven’t seen the trailer.”
