Peter-Tony Dynamic Is ‘Starting Point’ For Spider-Man’s Growth In Future…

As excited as people are to see the continuation of the Peter-Tony relationship that was started in Captain America: Civil War, it’s only the beginning for Peter according to Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts.

With Robert Downey Jr. not returning for a Homecoming sequel, others characters will step into Peter Parker’s life. Watts teased as much while sitting down with Screen Rant:

“Yeah, I think that’s inevitably going to be such a big part of Peter’s life, but I also do think it’s sort of the starting point. Like you were saying, there are so many other elements and characters in this universe for Peter to interact with, I can’t wait to see what else we can do.”

Since Spider-Man is firmly cemented in the MCU, it’s possible we could see other Avengers fill Tony Stark’s role in future Spider-Man films, or perhaps we’ll see a character from the hero’s extensive comic history.

“A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
