Phil Lord & Chris Miller Reveal Stan Lee Pitched Them 7 Ideas In 45 Minutes

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller shared a Stan Lee memory following his passing on Monday.

Lee has a slate of cameos in upcoming films following his death earlier this week. His next two cameos will be in animated features with Ralph Breaks the Internet and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. While filmmakers continue to share memories of Lee, producers Lord and Miller remembered the Marvel legend by sharing a story with The Hollywood Reporter on a meeting with they had with him before their 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie success:

“When we came in, we thought we were going to pitch him ideas, but he ended up pitching us no less than seven ideas in a 45-minute meeting. That’s just the kind of guy he was — an idea machine. He seemed to be a man to whom creation was as automatic as breathing. We were lucky to have him adorn our movie [Spider- Man: Into the Spider-Verse] with his voice [cameo].”
