‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Video Reveals Character As Will Turner’s Son

Disney has released a new 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' featurette that reveals a new character is Will Turner's son.

The trailers for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales introduced audiences to a new character played by Brenton Thwaites named Henry. Many fans believed that Henry had assumed the role of lead hero opposite the more morally grey Jack Sparrow, a position originally filled by Orlando Bloom’s Will Turner in the first three films of the series. Now, a new featurette for the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film reveals that Henry is actually the son of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann.

The featurette offers fans a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming film and includes interviews with cast and crew members. At roughly 1:00 into the video, Brenton Thwaites appears with a title card on the screen that reads “Henry Turner”, confirming the character to be the now adult son to Will and Elizabeth.

You can watch the entire featurette below!

Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him.  Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.

Directed by Espen Sandberg & Joachim Rønning, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales stars Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites, Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush. Keira Knightley will reprise her role as Elizabeth Swann in a cameo appearance.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will be released in theaters on May 26, 2017.
