New Pokemon Movie ‘Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution’ Releases First Trailer

The new animated Pokemon film Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution has finally released its first trailer.

Later this year, Detective Pikachu will bring the Pokemon franchise to the big screen using a mix of live-action and CGI animation. One Pokemon character that was revealed in the latest Detective Pikachu trailer was Mewtwo and now it seems that fans will be getting even more Mewtwo action on the big screen in the form of Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution. 

Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution will be the titular Pokemon’s return to the big screen after starring in two movies, 1998’s Pokemon: The First Movie and 2000’s Mewtwo Returns. Check out the first trailer for Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution via Twitter below.

A young man joins forces with Detective Pikachu to unravel the mystery behind his father’s disappearance. Chasing clues through the streets of Ryme City, the dynamic duo soon discover a devious plot that poses a threat to the Pokémon universe.

Directed by Rob Letterman, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu stars Ryan Reynolds, Justice Smith, Paul Kitson, Kathryn Newton, Ken Watanabe, Karan Soni, Bill Nighy, Suki Waterhouse, Chris Geere, Rita Ora, and Omar Chaparro. Be sure to catch ’em all when the film hits theaters on May 10, 2019.
