‘Power Rangers’ Special Features Clip Spotlights Franchise’s Diversity

A 'Power Rangers' special features clip highlights the diversity and worldwide appeal of the franchise through interviews with cast and crew.


Despite a disappointing performance at the box office and lukewarm reviews, many viewers did applaud the Power Rangers reboot for including a diverse cast of characters. However, some fans might argue that diversity is nothing new to the longstanding franchise, which has included several versions of the titular team throughout its run. Now, a special features clip from DVD & Blu-Ray release of Power Rangers has been unveiled where members of the cast and crew discusses the global appeal of the franchise.

The clip includes interviews with Haim Saban, director Dean Israelite and actor RJ Cyler where they discusses the legacy of Power Rangers and why the franchise has appealed to audiences around the world.

Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discoverer they are the only ones who save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers. 

Directed by Dean Israelite, the film stars Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Banks and Bill Hader.

Power Rangers will be available on Digital HD on June 13 followed by the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and Blu-ray release on June 27.
