‘The Predator’: Jake Busey Reveals Character’s Ties To Previous Films

When news broke that Jake Busey has joined the cast of director Shane Black’s The Predator, fans immediately being speculating that the role could possibly be related to the character portrayed by the actor’s father, Gary Busey, in Predator 2. It appears those fans were correct as Busey recently confirmed to The Red Booth that he will be playing the son of secret government agent Peter Keyes.

Busey revealed his character’s ties to the previous film while discussing how he was offered the role by Shane Black:

“[Shane Black] called me and he said, ‘Hey, do you wana do this movie? We don’t have money for you but it’ll be a fun thing to come play and be your father’s son,’ and so as much as I have followed in my dad’s footsteps career wise, this is, like, *really* following in his footsteps by playing a character who’s [the] son [of the character] that he played.”

Busey also added that his character will be a scientist.
