‘The Predator’ Star Keegan-Michael Key Says Fans Will Be Surprised

'The Predator' Star Keegan-Michael Key assures fans that the latest installment of the franchise will offer plenty of surprises for audiences.

Director Shane Black’s The Predator will be released next summer and actor Keegan-Michael Key will play one of the characters who find themselves being targeted by the extraterrestrial hunters. However, with four previous installments in the franchise, fans are curious to see what fresh material the latest entry can offer audiences. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Keegan-Michael Key assured fans that there will plenty of surprises in the latest Predator film.

Key explained that the new film will not be a simple rehash the original:

“Predator was a real privilege to do, and if people think they’re going to see a remake of the original movie, they’re in for a surprise. A very pleasant surprise.”

Key also discussed the new film’s place in the Predator timeline, explaining that it is neither a standalone or sequel:

“It’s not a sequel. It certainly lives in the universe of the five films that were made. I think that’s probably the best way to say it and the only way I can say it right now.”
