‘Rogue One’: ‘Star Wars’ Prequels Character Returns In New Clip

After members of the press were able to see a good footage from Rogue One in the past couple of days, Lucasfilm and Disney have dropped a new clip.

After members of the press were able to see a good 28 minutes of footage from Rogue One in the past couple of days, Lucasfilm and Disney have released a new clip online for us fans. The clip, while only 23 seconds, marks the return of a character from the Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. In the clip we see Jyn rallying the rebels to fight.

Jimmy Smits returns as Bail Organa, Leia’s adoptive father and friend of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Rahm Kota. For those of you that don’t remember, he was one of the main founders of the rebel alliance. Smits’ role in the film is unclear, and he doesn’t even get the chance to speak in the clip; granted even having him appear furthers connective tissue.

In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story flies into theaters on December 16th, 2016.
