Following the recent cancellation of The Punisher and Jessica Jones Netflix shows, the various actors and producers have posted their tributes on social media. One actor, however, who has appeared in the various Netflix shows confirmed something that had only previously been a rumor. As it turns out, the story about the actors not being able to appear as their characters for roughly two years has some truth to it.
While speaking to Comicbook.com, Royce Johnson confirmed this to be the case. Johnson plays Detective Brett Mahoney in the Marvel Netflix shows and has most notably appeared in Daredevil and The Punisher. During the interview he talked about the clause but still hoped that the same people will be involved:
I mean, talking to [Marvel TV president] Jeph Loeb, I read that the memo had said, ‘To be continued.’ There is a clause that I heard through rumor that we have to wait 18 months, up to two years.
Will we get the same people? We don’t know that. I think they got together with a great team, I mean, with the writers, producers, editors, scorers, the stunt teams, everybody.
From the sound of things, Netflix has several of these actors in a very tight position!
