In 2017, it was reported that Quentin Tarantino had pitched a story for a new Star Trek film that J.J. Abrams and Paramount Pictures were reportedly enthusiastic enough about to form a writers room for the potential project. However, there has been little to no word on Quentin Tarantino’s proposed Star Trek film since then, leading some fans to assume to project was no longer happening. However, Quentin Tarantino assured fans that his Star Trek film is still a possibility and that script has been written:
“It’s a very big possibility. I haven’t been dealing with those guys for a while cause I’ve been making my movie. But we’ve talked about a story and a script. The script has been written and when I emerge my head like Punxsutawney Phil, post-Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, we’ll pick up talking about it again.”
Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2019.
