Just looking at box office projection sites such as, The Numbers, for example, the box office gross just yesterday for Ralph Breaks the Internet is a little under $22 million. It’s total domestic gross right now is $50.5 million. So right now, the film is holding its own against the likes of another newcomer for the holiday, Creed II, as well as the ongoing box office gross for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Until all of the numbers have been finalized when the holiday weekend comes to a close, it’s a given right now that indeed, Ralph Breaks the Internet will bring in huge numbers at the box office. Whether the film inevitably ends up topping Frozen remains to be seen, but right now, Ralph has managed to fight off his competition, including competition from an actual fighter. Animation tends to have its advantages, you know?
Though it’s a safe bet now that the film will have a better opening gross than the 2012 original which, over a three day period, raked in $49 million over a three day period. Right now, Ralph Breaks the Internet has the advantage of coming out over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, but we will see where the final numbers land once the weekend ends.
