Ray Fisher is in talks to reprise his role as Cyborg for The Flash.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ray Fisher is in “deep negotiations” to reprise his role as Cyborg for Ezra Miller’s first cinematic solo outing as The Flash. The trade notes that the negotiations are for a “cameo” appearance in the highly-anticipated movie.
Earlier this year, Ray Fisher took to Twitter to accuse Joss Whedon of “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable” behavior on the set of Justice League. Whedon boarded Justice League after Zack Snyder left the film’s director’s chair to deal with a family tragedy, handling its extensive reshoots and post-production. In his Twitter post, Fisher also called out former DC President and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and producer Jon Berg, saying that the two “enabled” Whedon’s alleged behavior.
Last night, Warner Bros. released an extensive statement denying several recent claims made by Ray Fisher and accusing the Justice League star of not cooperating with a misconduct investigation. The statement also confirmed that DC Films president Walter Hamada met Fisher to discuss his future as Cyborg and ask him to appear in The Flash.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on The Flash and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content.
