Fisher made his debut as Victor Stone/Cyborg through a cameo appearance in Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He then appeared in Justice League alongside his fellow co-stars and despite some criticisms about how look as Cyborg appeared on screen, many praised Fisher for bringing some depth to the character in a film that many considered to be uneven.
A standalone Cyborg movie was in Warner Bros. and DC Films’ original slate, but no new information about that film’s development has been revealed. However, Fisher recently revealed that Snyder would be his top choice to direct him in a standalone Cyborg movie if it were to ever come into fruition:
“I did know about being a part of Justice League. Zack explained what the overall plan for me was at the time and that there was the potential of a Cyborg standalone down the line. Assuming the story would be grounded and compelling, I’d love to do a solo film. I think Cyborg has the potential for a superhero film unlike any we’ve seen before. If Zack were to ever come back to direct another DC film, he’d be my top pick to direct.”
After Snyder departed his directorial duties on Justice League following the tragic death of his daughter, The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon took over to finish reshoots and post-production.
Amidst that process, Fisher was very vocal with his support for Snyder. During the Warner Bros. Pictures’ 2017 San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel, Fisher donned a t-shirt that expressed love to Snyder.
When the long-awaited standalone movie for The Flash was under the direction of Rick Famuyiwa, Fisher was set to reprise his role as Cyborg in that film alongside Ezra Miller’s Flash. Unfortunately, Famuyiwa departed the project over creative differences and at this point in time, it is unknown if Fisher will appear in that film.
Hopefully, Fisher will get to play Cyborg again in the near future whether it’d be through a standalone movie or alongside a fellow DC superhero.
