The future of Marvel’s TV universe was discussed yesterday at the ABC’s Television Critics’ Association panel. The possibility of new shows was talked about, along with the fact that Hayley Atwell would love to return to the role of Agent Carter, and what really happened with the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s spin-off Marvel’s Most Wanted. Wanted wasn’t picked up to series after the pilot was viewed.
Most Wanted was going to feature Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood as Mockingbird and Lance Hunter. ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey is shining some light on what happened with Most Wanted.
“Most Wanted, ultimately at the end of the day, did not feel as strong as some of the other pilots that we shot. We talked about it with Marvel and we all came to an agreement that we want to figure out what the next show is that we do together, is something that we all feel is as creatively strong as it can be.”
The spin-off might not be completely dead, Dungey explained that while the show was a joint partnership between Marvel and ABC, they do have the right to shop the pilot around to another home.
“It was a joint partnership between Marvel and ABC Studios. We certainly are open if they were to find another home for it to have that happen.”
