Despite earlier rumors to the contrary, Michael Dorn definitely will not be returning to the world of 'Star Trek' in any capacity.
“I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that Mr. Dorn did not say he was going to be on the new Star Trek show. In fact, he went to great lengths explaining why he would not be on the new show – that there had been interest expressed, but he was not offered enough money. He said they had offered him less than 1 percent of what he made in his last contract as Worf.”
Mr. Palm makes reference to an event held with Dorn on Sunday, “An Evening with Michael Dorn” at the Orlando Palace Theater in Florida. Dorn commented on the Lt. Worf rumor at the event, explaining about the disappointing offer. This story was then picked up by another outlet and taken out of context, leading to mistaken reports about his return.
Though Michael Dorn will definitely NOT be appearing in Star Trek: Discovery, you can still look forward to a star-studded cast that includes Sonequa Martin-Green (The Walking Dead), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter franchise), Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and Anthony Rapp (A Beautiful Mind). Star Trek: Discovery premieres later this year on CBS and the brand new CBS All-Access streaming platform. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the series!
