Rebecca Ferguson Likely To Return For ‘Mission: Impossible’ Sequels

It sounds as if though Mission Impossible star Rebecca Ferguson has chosen to accept more missions following last summer’s blockbuster hit, Mission Impossible- Fallout, which became the series’ highest-grossing film with a worldwide haul of over $790.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress was asked if it overwhelms her to imagine the type of stunt she might be asked to do in order to top the previous Mission Impossible. Ferguson responded:

“It’s a big thing to throw yourself into and accept another however long the shoot would be. There are rewards and repercussions that come with it. We’ll see what happens to Ilsa because it’s not written. We don’t really know yet what’s going to happen. All I can do is keep calling him to say, “Don’t throw me out of an airplane. Don’t lock me inside a box.” So, we’ll see.”

Rebecca Ferguson made her Mission Impossible debut in Mission Impossible- Rogue Nation back in 2015 when she first played former MI6 Agent Ilsa Faust. Through the course of the last two films, Rebecca Ferguson’s character has been set up more and more as a love interest for series star Tom Cruise’s Ian Hunt. If that actually plays out, we will have to wait for and see.

Christopher McQuarrie, who wrote and directed both Rogue Nation and Fallout, recently signed on to write and direct the next two Mission Impossible sequels, which have been slated by Paramount Pictures to arrive in theaters sometime in 2021 and 2022 back-to-back.
