Redmayne reveals that he has a particular fondness for none other than Rubeus Hagrid. Redmayne explained as such:
“Hagrid. And I’m secretly hoping that at some wonderful point, maybe if I say it enough times to J.K. Rowling, like a little mini Hagrid might arrive.”
Actress Katherine Waterston agreed with this sentiment:
Katherine Waterston: In the timeline, he could be a kid.
Eddie Redmayne: He probably could. I haven’t actually gone and… he’s pretty old.
Waterston: I think it could work!
If Hagrid were to appear in an upcoming Fantastic Beasts film, what actor would you like to see? It’ll be hard to see someone follow in the footsteps of Robbie Coltrane, but it sure looks like Jude Law has been a worthy choice to play Dumbledore and give both Richard Harris and Michael Gambon justice.
In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans of raising pure-blood wizards to rule over all non-magical beings, Albus Dumbledore enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided world.
