Resident Evil is one of the biggest video games of all time and has even spawned numerous feature films. Another film in the franchise has officially entered development with Johannes Roberts tapped to write and direct a potential Resident Evil reboot with a new cast. Now news comes that there appears to be a series in development with an unexpected host.
According to Deadline, Netflix will produce a TV series of the Resident Evil game. Not much is currently known about the series, but it seems it will keep the franchises basic premise and it could carry over into film. The series will follow “the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus.”
The series is expected to feature many Easter eggs and action sequences known for the franchise. The search is currently on for a show runner to helm the series.
