The Starz adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods showed us that Ricky Whittle has what it takes to play a big role in Hollywood. It’s no wonder why Ricky Whittle is on a long list of names fan-casted as John Stewart for the upcoming DC and Warner Bros. film Green Lantern Corps. Although the film doesn’t have a release date yet, and Geoff Johns is still writing it, fan artists sure like to imagine their favorite picks for the John Stewart role and Ricky Whittle is no stranger to fan cast lists. This amazing fan art gives us a closer look at how Ricky Whittle might look like as Green Lantern John Stewart for the DCEU:
The long-in-development Green Lantern Corps is rumored to be a buddy-cop movie with an older, experienced Hal Jordan training the young recruit John Stewart in the ways of the Green Lantern Corps. Ricky Whittle is just one of many actors to have thrown his hat in the ring to play the character which also includes Common, Trevante Rhodes, Sterling K. Brown and of course Tyrese Gibson.
If selected, Ricky Whittle will be a part of a more modern DCEU which may include Robert Pattinson’s Batman and some already known actors like Gal Gadot and her Wonder Woman and Jason Momoa with his Aquaman.
