New Image From Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien: Covenant’ Released

A brand new image from Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant has been revealed, giving us another look at the main crew from the highly anticipated movie.

During last night’s episode of Legion on FX, 20th Century Fox released “The Last Supper,” a cool five-minute Alien: Covenant prologue helmed by director Ridley Scott’s son, Luke. Now, Empire has revealed a brand new image from the movie, giving us another look at the Covenant crew. You can check it out below.

Speaking with the site, Michael Fassbender had the following to say about the film’s characters and how they compare to the ones from 1979’s Alien:

“What’s great about this story is the characters are so different. They’re not just filling out a spaceship, their characters have been thought about. It harks back to those really cool characters in the original Alien, where there are great relationships going on outside of the [alien].”

Fassbender returns as the synthetic David (with a dual role as a newer model named Walter) alongside Noomi Rapace, who played Prometheus protagonist Elizabeth Shaw. The cast also includes Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby and James Franco. Here’s the synopsis:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Alien: Covenant opens in theaters on May 19th.
