‘Riverdale’ Star Luke Perry Dead At 52 After ‘Massive’ Stroke

Riverdale star Luke Perry has died at the age of 52 following a “massive strike,” according to TMZ.

At around 9:40 a.m. this past Wednesday, paramedics responded to the Riverdale star’s home in Sherman Oaks following a call that reportedly came into the fire department for someone suffering a stroke. The actor was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital. Per TMZ, Luke Perry passed away on Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, surrounded by close family and friends.

Luke Perry’s representatives told TMZ that the Riverdale actor had been sedated to give his brain a chance to recover after the stroke, but the damage was too extensive. His reps also released the following statement:

“The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world.”

In addition to his role as Archie’s father on The CW’s Riverdale, Luke Perry is also known for playing Dylan McKay in the hit ’90s series Beverly Hills, 90210. He recently filmed a role for Quentin Tarantino’s next movie, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.

Our hearts go out to all of Luke Perry’s family, friends and fellow Riverdale co-stars during this tragic time.
