Robert Downey Jr. is often considered one of the best actors of his generation. Besides Iron Man, the actor has also played Sherlock Holmes and Charlie Chaplin in his prolific career. With so many superhero movies coming out, many actors are returning the genre to play different characters. The most recent example of this is The Dark Knight trilogy star Christian Bale, who is in talks for Thor: Love and Thunder.
While promoting Dolittle, Robert Downey Jr. did an interview with BBC Radio 1 where he was asked questions from kids. One of them was which superhero would he have liked to play if he didn’t play Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr’s response might surprise you:
“I can’t think of any red-blooded American boy that didn’t imagine themselves as Spider-Man growing up. However, looking back on it now — also because I’m just such a Jeremy Renner fan, and he made it so cool, particularly when he turns into Ronin [in Endgame] — I would say Hawkeye would be my go-to.”
