There are several great toy companies out there, but Hot Toys sure knows how to bring the smallest most intricate details of a character, and the actor who plays it, to life. The latest to get this treatment from Hot Toys is Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark. His Iron Man Mark 85, the suit he’ll be wearing for Avengers: Endgame, will soon be available. As we’ve already seen before from other toy brands, the replacement for the Bleeding Edge armor features an even yellow and red pallet strongly reminiscent of how Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark looks in Marvel comics. Last time we saw Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark was during Avengers: Infinity War. Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man was sorely defeated by Thanos on his home planet, Titan, and was left with Nebula to rot after most of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange vanished in front of them due to Thanos acquiring all six Infinity Stones. According to the first Avengers: Endgame trailer, Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark is drifting around in the universe waiting for a miracle to save him.
Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark fate is still unknown. There’s a lot of rumors going around even suggesting that Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man will not make it past Avengers: Endgame mainly because his contract with Marvel Studios expires after the film. With the introduction of several characters like Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel, it seems that the days of the Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man era are numbered.
