Thanks to set photos which surfaced online during the film’s production, the film is expected to feature Robert Downey Jr appear a little older and a little grayer than we last saw him after Thanos’ snap decimated half of the universe’s population in Avengers: Infinity War. New fan art imagines Robert Downey Jr an older Iron Man suited up the Quantum Realm version of his Iron Man armor for what could be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s mainstay’s final performance as the iconic superhero. Although plot details remain under wraps, the Avengers are expected to utilize the Quantum Realm in their efforts to undo the events of Avengers: Infinity War and bring back many of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes who were turned to dust by the Mad Titan Thanos. The set photos of Robert Downey Jr as an aged up Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame are what have given way to countless fan theories involving time jumps between films and time travel plots featured in the upcoming Marvel epic.

Avengers: Endgame will serve as both a follow up to Avengers: Infinity War as well as the conclusion to the 22 films that came before it before Marvel kicks off Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: Far From Home in July.
