Robert Downey Jr Shares BTS Video Of Iron Man & Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Reuniting In ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Avengers: Endgame just topped the box office for a third week in a row and Robert Downey Jr. shared some behind the scenes footage of Iron Man reuniting with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

Robert Downey Jr. shared the touching moment on his Instagram page. The post shows us the reunion behind the scenes featuring Robert Downey Jr and Tom Holland in their motion capture suits. Here’s a look:

Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark have had a father-son relationship ever since Captain America: Civil War. In Avengers: Infinity War, Tony Stark lost it all when he lost Peter, to the snap. When Spidey came back in Endgame, he was ecstatic to see his father-figure once again. The moment above is the last hug Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr will share in the MCU. It serves as a heartwarming foreshadow to Iron Man passing on the torch to the next leader.

To follow that, the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home movie will show us the world without Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man. The weight of the Avengers will be on Tom Holland’s shoulders now as Peter is now expected to be the world’s new Iron Man. Thor and Captain Marvel are both unavailable and Nick Fury needs new heroes. The friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is no more and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will now have to fill Iron Man’s shoes. Spider-Man: Far From Home comes to theaters July 2. Hopefully, he’ll be ready for what’s to come next.

Avengers: Endgame serves as both a follow up to Avengers: Infinity War as well as the conclusion to the 22 films that came before Marvel officially ends Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: Far From Home in July.

Here is a plot synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers:Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
