Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’ Casts John Turturro As Carmine Falcone

The cast of Robert Pattinson’s The Batman continues to grow with the addition of John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.

John Turturro has officially been cast as Carmine Falcone in The Batman, the highly-anticipated DC Comics movie that’s being directed by War for the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves. The filmmaker broke the news via Twitter.

Carmine Falcone has previously been brought to life by Tom Wilkinson and John Doman. Also known as “The Roman,” Carmine Falcone was created by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli for Batman: Year One. The character is a powerful Gotham mob boss who’s often depicted as an enemy of the Dark Knight in the pages of DC Comics.

Plot details for The Batman are being kept under wraps. Previous rumors once pointed to an earlier version of the script featuring Ben Affleck bookending the movie as his current Batman while it introduced a younger version of the iconic character, played by Robert Pattinson. But with Ben Affleck retired from the role, Robert Pattinson has officially replaced the Batman v Superman and Justice League star as Batman.

While details are slim, Matt Reeves has confirmed that his movie is not based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will emphasize the hero as the world’s greatest detective more than previous films have in the past. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new Batman trilogy starring Robert Pattinson.

What do you think of John Turturro as Carmine Falcone? Are you excited to see John Turturro as Carmine Falcone opposite Robert Pattinson’s Batman? Let us know in the comments!

The Batman arrives in theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding  Robert Pattinson, Batman, Carmine Falcone, John Turturro and the future of the DC Extended Universe!
