New Shooting Location For Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’ Possibly Revealed

According to a new report, sets are being constructed at Cardington Sheds in the U.K. for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.

With the year coming to a close, the production start date for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman is fast approaching and it appears sets for the film are currently in the midst of being constructed. According to an unofficial  Twitter account dedicated to Cardington Sheds, a cathedral set for is currently being built at the location for a scene in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman and roughly 500 extras are being sought for the sequence.

A post for an extras agency revealed the actors are being cast for a funeral scene at a time and area that matches the location of the sheds and lines up with the filming schedule for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman. Interestingly, the sheds have a history of being used for Batman films even before Robert Pattinson’s movie, as they were used for all three installments of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy

Full plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and features a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Jayme Lawson as Bella, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Peter Sarsgaard. Recently, Colin Farrell was reportedly in talks to play the Penguin.

The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
