Robert Pattinson Dons Updated Version Of Michael Keaton’s Batman Suit In New Fan Art

When Michael Keaton made his first appearance as Bruce Wayne in Tim Burton’s Batman, the actor donned a black Batsuit that was a far cry from the blue and grey tights audiences had become used to seeing from the Adam West version of the DC Comics hero. Three years later, Michael Keaton reprised the role in Batman Returns with a slightly updated version of his previous Batsuit.

Now, Robert Pattinson is set to become the latest actor to take on the Batman role in a new film from War for the Planet of the Apes helmer Matt Reeves. While it will likely be a while before we get an official look at Robert Pattinson’s Batsuit, digital artist Kunal Chopra has created a new concept design that imagines what the Lighthouse star would look like in an updated version of Michael Keaton’s Batman Returns outfit.

Full plot details for The Batman are being kept under lock and key, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and features a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and Paul Dano as the Riddler. Westworld star Jeffrey Wright was recently reported to be in talks for the role of Commissioner James Gordon.
