Yesterday, it was reported Twilight star Robert Pattinson was the official frontrunner to portray the Dark Knight in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. While Robert Pattinson has yet to sign any deal, official news of his potential casting was not well received by those unfamiliar with his work outside of the Twilight film series. However, it was during his time playing Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga that fans first heard a sample of Robert Pattinson’s Batman voice, when he mimicked the Caped Crusader while recording the audio commentary for Eclipse.

Plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and includes multiple villains. Matt Reeves also confirmed that it will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC Films.
The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.
The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
