Warner Bros. and DC have kept many details about the upcoming Matt Reeves Batman movie under wraps, but Twilight star Robert Pattinson is first in line to become the next Batman. The internet has been going crazy with the news, with plenty of fan art popping up. The fans have envisioned what Robert Pattinson would look like in the cowl, but this image shows us how Robert Pattinson would look in a Batsuit similar to Ben Affleck’s tactical batsuit from Justice League. Here’s a look at Robert Pattinson both in and out of the cowl:
With positive reactions also come negative ones. Some fans are not into the idea of Robert Pattinson dawning the cape and cowl. Those that are unfamiliar with Robert Pattinson’s roles after Twilight have already started not just one, but several different petitions against the casting. Change.org has multiple postings pushing to not cast Robert Pattinson. One suggests that instead of Robert Pattinson, Armie Hammer should be the next Batman. One petition even states that Robert Pattinson “would be the worst casting ever for the dark knight.”
Many fans wanted to see Ben Affleck continue his portrayal of Batman. Initial reactions to Ben Affleck’s Batman casting, also known as ‘Batfleck,’ were negative but since then he’s garnered some positive remarks for his time in the DCEU. Warner Bros. and DC agreed that Batman needed a reboot with a younger start for the character so Ben Affleck’s older, weathered Batman was left behind.
What do you think of Robert Pattinson in the tactical suit? Are you happy with the casting choice? If not, who would you rather see play Batman? Let us know down in the comments!
Warner Bros. and DC Films are also developing The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.
The DCEU continues with a standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime on October 4, 2019, Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984on June 5, 2020.
