Robert Pattinson Talks Bulking Up For His ‘The Batman’ Body

The Batman star Robert Pattinson appears to have a bit of anxiety with regard to his exercise plans for the DC Comics movie.

Robert Pattinson has revealed that he’s preparing to get in the swing of working out a lot to get into superhero shape to play the Batman while on the press tour for The Lighthouse. The actor noted that, as he’s gotten older, concerns about possible injury have entered the back of his mind:

“I’m [in the] early stages [of training]. Very, very early! …I did [like exercising] when I was younger, but like now, as I’ve kind of gotten older, I’ve suddenly, like… I’m suddenly getting aware of aging, and so I’m kind of… ‘Ah, I need to put in some effort put in, otherwise, I’m gonna need a hip replacement!'”

You can watch the snippet of Robert Pattinson’s interview regarding The Batman below:

Robert Pattinson most notably worked out to portray Edward Cullen in the Twilight series of movies. By the time he’s playing the Batman, it will be about a decade since he last exercised in the same sort of capacity for a role. Regardless, The Batman will be a more physically-demanding role than the Twilight movies were, so hopefully his trainers make sure that he’s absolutely fine going forward.

We know that The Batman will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that reportedly includes Catwoman and The Penguin. Director Matt Reeves has also confirmed that it will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will make use of Batman’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC Comics movies. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new movie trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman is set to star Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, with Jeffrey Wright in negotiations to play Commisioner James “Jim” Gordon, and Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman. Paul Dano recently joined the cast of the movie as The Riddler.

The Batman is set to hit theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Robert Pattinson and the movie!
