Robert Rodriguez Reveals First Look At Baby Yoda In ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2

Robert Rodriguez confirmed he’s directing an episode of The Mandalorian season 2 with a new behind-the-scenes photo featuring Baby Yoda.

Earlier this year, it was rumored that filmmaker Robert Rodriguez served as a director on the second season of The Mandalorian. Now, Robert Rodriguez has confirmed the news himself with a behind-the-scenes photo taken from the set of the series.

The photo in question offers fans their first glimpse at Baby Yoda. In the caption included with the image, Robert Rodriguez wrote that he is humbled to say he has had the privilege of directing the “biggest star in the universe.”

In addition to Robert Rodriguez, episodes in the second season will be directed by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Peyton Reed, and Carl Weathers. Production on the second season of the Mandalorian is already complete and the show is scheduled to return on Disney Plus this fall.

Here is the official synopsis for The Mandalorian:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte. The Star Wars series was written by Jon Favreau, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist is also on board as a co-executive producer.
