Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson hinted at an early and surprising introduction of DC Comics villain Black Adam in the DC Extended Universe.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is set to join the DC Extended Universe as Shazam nemesis Black Adam in the character’s own solo feature film. While promoting his latest film, Baywatch, Johnson teased a potential early debut for the classic DC Comics villain during an interview with Fandango.
Johnson hinted that fans may be surprised by where Black Adam will be introduced.
“It’s definitely going to happen, sure. We’ve had great conversations with Geoff Johns and everyone over at DC. It’s an exciting time right now for everyone at DC because they are in a process now where they are building out [their DC universe] really nicely. We have a really cool surprise for Black Adam that I can’t reveal, in terms of where we will see Black Adam being introduced.”
Johnson also hinted at a potential showdown between Black Adam and Superman in the future.
“One fine day… that’s coming. That’s in the cards.”
Of the two DCEU films being released this year, Justice League feels like a more likely candidate for Black Adam’s introduction, though a post-credits style appearance in Wonder Woman is always possible.
