In a tweet from Hill, he confirmed the developer won’t be making an announcement at the Game Awards next week, nor is their next project a Superman game. You can check it out below.
Rumors ran wild of a Superman game announcement earlier this year but ahead of E3, the developer instead revealed another installment to the long-running Hitman video game franchise. Since the summer, job listings and even rumors originating from 4chan and Reddit have pointed to the possibility of a video game featuring the Man of Tomorrow, or even a Justice League game. The title Superman: World’s Finest has floated around since before E3, but a listing for the title on Game System Requirements recently surfaced, causing the rumor of a Superman game to ignite once again.
As for the possible Justice League game, the supposed leak which hit 4chan suggested the project would be a variation on the title Justice League: Crisis. The rumored line-up includes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Cyborg and Aquaman in the early stages of their superhero careers. It was also suggested that the game would feature Starro as the main villain with Brainiac and Darkseid featured in episodic content.
