‘Rogue One’ Writer Gary Whitta Reveals Cut Cameo Role

While most fans dream of having the opportunity to appear in a Star Wars film, not everyone can play a leading role in the beloved franchise. However, the series has been known to offer small cameo roles to people, including members of the team who have worked on various Star Wars projects, past and present. While Rogue One: A Star Wars Story writer Gary Whitta was among those lucky enough the film a cameo appearance in the latest Star Wars film, his role was ultimately cut from the final version of the film. Now, Whitta has taken to Twitter to share an image of his time on the set of Rogue One, revealing his cut cameo role to fans.

The image features Whitta in a Rebel pilot uniform alongside Rayne Roberts, a member of the Star Wars story group responsible for maintaining continuity between the various Star Wars films, novels, video games and television shows. You can check out the post below!

With a number of Star Wars projects yet to begin production, including Episode IX and the young Han Solo standalone film, hopefully there will still be an opportunity for Gary Whitta to make an on-screen appearance in the Star Wars universe.
