Speaking to a fan on Twitter, Perlman indicated that it would take an awful lot for him to come back and appear in the new films. Check out the Tweet below for his full response:
While fans of the original films will be disappointed, the reboot is promising a completely new and darker universe, one that is much closer to the original source material. Because of this, it would probably be for the best if Perlman did not cameo so as not to confuse the two series.
The new film, Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen, is set to be directed by Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones, The Descent) and will star David Harbour (Stranger Things) in the role of the titular demonic hero.
