The actor also writes that he “would never be so ungentlemanly as to comment” on this so he just says “NO COMMENT!”. Ron Perlman has been very public about his interest in reprising the role of Hellboy on various occasions. Nonetheless, Dark Horse Entertainment and Legendary seemed to think that a reboot of the series would be a better option and ultimately cast Stranger Things actor David Harbour in the titular role.
The Ron Perlman and Guillermo Del Toro version of Hellboy was adored by fans, signaling that this reboot would have a tough road ahead to get them on board. Many people thought it would make amends and actually be a great movie. However, the first trailer dropped in December and fans were luke warm as the reaction to it was fairly mixed.
