The CW Orders Ruby Rose’s ‘Batwoman’ Pilot To Series

The CW has officially added another DC Comics hero to its roster, as Ruby Rose’s Batwoman pilot gets a full series pick up.

Ruby Rose’s Batwoman first appeared in the Arrowverse Elseworlds crossover event, where she was introduced along with The CW version of Gotham City. While FOX’s Gotham ended a few weeks ago, a new series centered on a Batman character will soon take its place.  The CW has ordered the Batwoman pilot, which filmed in the spring, to a full series. There is no news on when the new show will premiere, but it could be after Arrow finishes its shortened ten-episode final season in 2020. The CW’s fall schedule will be announced next week on May 16 at this year’s Upfront Presentation.

Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence.

Directed by Marcos Siega from a script written by Caroline Dries, the Batwoman pilot stars Ruby Rose as Kate Kane, Rachel Skarsten as lead villain Alice, Dougray Scott Cast As Jacob Kane, Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore, Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox, and Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton. Caroline Dries also serves as an executive-producing alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schecht, and Geoff Johns.
